India is one of the most populous countries in the world. It is considered as one of the most spiritual countries on earth, but is a country of contradictions. India, offers a wide variety of landscapes and interests such as the deserts of Rajasthan, the Ganges Valley, the foothills of the Himalayas, Sikkim tea fields, tiger sanctuaries, rice fields, and coconut palms on their beaches, but also has big cities like Delhi, Calcutta, Mumbai, Bangalore, Mysore and Chennai. There is spirituality in Varanasi, in temples such as Khajuraho, Amritsar, Madurai and Mahabalipuram. India has a wide variety of monuments that recall the great history of this country, but it is a country that confronts us with contradictions. A single visit will likely lead to further visits to explore its many dimensions.
Republic of India
The majority of the country comes from Indo-Aryan cultures, but there are also the Cashmeres. There are Tibetan, Bengali, Dravidians and other ethnic groupsand many other minor tribes.
The official language is Hindi, although many people speak English. The Constitution recognizes up to 14 regional languages, but there are over 4,000 languages and dialects. In North Urdu, Bengali, Gujarati, marathin Dravidian languages are also spoken.
Hindus predominate, although there are many Muslims, Sikhs, Jains, Buddhists, and some Christians.
